How to Make Tarka Daal

Tarka Daal:

  1. Drizzle oil into a pot.

  2. Add chopped onion and fry for 8 minutes then red lentils, coriander, turmeric, salt and water stir then simmer with the lid on for 15 minutes.

  3. Meanwhile, start your tarka by frying garlic in hot oil for a couple of minutes.

  4. Next  add cumin seeds, fennel seeds, mustard seeds, green chillies and fresh ginger fry for 1-2 minutes.

  5. Now add the incredible tarkha to the lentils and stir it through to combine all those flavors. Now leave it to simmer for 5 minutes.

  6. We love to serve our tarka daal with  some fresh coriander and we scoop it up with some warm roti.
